1.1 The promoter of the JUCE Mini Campaign promotional competition (“Campaign”) is JUCE Fragrances (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2022/584154/07, with its principal address at 105 Hope Street, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa, 8000 (“JUCE” or the “Promoter”).
1.2 The Campaign will be conducted through the following official JUCE social-media accounts:
1.3 These Rules constitute the official rules of the Campaign. By entering, a Participant confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Rules.
1.4 Personal information will be processed in accordance with clause 13 and the JUCE Privacy Policy. Access to and use of the JUCE website is separately governed by the JUCE Terms of Service.
1.5 If there is an inconsistency between the Campaign Post, the JUCE Terms of Service, another JUCE policy and these Rules concerning the Campaign, these Rules will prevail, subject always to applicable law.
In these Rules:
2.1 “Business Day” means a day other than a Saturday, Sunday or official public holiday in the Republic of South Africa.
2.2 “Campaign Post” means an official JUCE social-media post inviting people to participate in the Campaign and linking or referring to these Rules.
2.3 “Campaign Period” means the period beginning at 18:00 SAST on Tuesday, 1 September 2026 and ending at 17:00 SAST on Thursday, 3 September 2026.
2.4 “Claim Deadline” means 18:00 SAST on Thursday, 10 September 2026 or, if JUCE sends a Potential Winner their first direct notification after 18:00 SAST on Thursday, 3 September 2026, five Business Days after that first direct notification.
2.5 “Participant” means an eligible individual who enters the Campaign in accordance with these Rules.
2.6 “Potential Winner” means a Participant selected in the random draw, subject to verification that the Participant satisfied the eligibility and entry requirements at the time of entry.
2.7 “Prize” means one bespoke JUCE First Edition Set comprising:
Three 10ml JUCE Mini Fragrances selected from the eligible fragrances available when the Prize is processed; and
One Bespoke JUCE First Edition Pouch.
2.8 “Qualifying Participant” means an eligible Participant whose valid entry contains the correct answer.
2.9 “Verified Winner” means a Potential Winner whose identity and eligibility have been successfully verified by JUCE.
3.1 The Campaign is open only to natural persons who:
Are 18 years of age or older when they enter;
Are lawful residents of the Republic of South Africa;
Have a valid South African physical delivery address; and
Comply with these Rules.
3.2 The following people may not enter or receive a Prize:
A director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Promoter;
A person who directly or indirectly controls, or is controlled by, the Promoter;
A supplier of goods or services connected with the Campaign;
A marketing or competition-administration service provider involved in the Campaign; or
A spouse, life partner, business partner or immediate family member of any person described above.
3.3 For these purposes, “immediate family member” includes a parent, child or sibling, including an adoptive, step or half-family relationship.
3.4 A Potential Winner may be required to provide reasonable proof of their identity, age and South African residency. JUCE will collect and process this information in accordance with clause 13.
3.5 A person who cannot demonstrate that they satisfied the eligibility requirements when they entered will not be eligible to receive a Prize.
4.1 The Campaign opens at 18:00 SAST on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.
4.2 The Campaign closes at 17:00 SAST on Thursday, 3 September 2026.
4.3 Entries submitted after the closing time will not be accepted. The timestamp recorded by the relevant social-media platform or JUCE’s Campaign records will be used to determine whether an entry was submitted on time.
4.4 The draw will take place after the Campaign closes.
4.5 The Potential Winners are expected to be announced at approximately 18:00 SAST on Thursday, 3 September 2026.
4.6 If verification or a technical issue causes a delay, JUCE will publish an update through its official Campaign accounts.
5.1 No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win.
5.2 To enter, a Participant must, during the Campaign Period:
Locate the Campaign Post on one of the official JUCE accounts identified in clause 1.2; and
Submit their guess as a comment on the Campaign Post in accordance with the instructions contained in that post.
5.3 Each Participant may submit only one entry, irrespective of the number of participating platforms or accounts.
5.4 If a Participant submits more than one comment or enters through both Instagram and Facebook, only their first valid entry will be considered.
5.5 A Participant may not use multiple or false identities, multiple accounts, automated systems, bots, scripts, entry syndicates or another method intended to obtain an unfair advantage.
5.6 Normal internet or mobile-data charges imposed by a Participant’s service provider may apply. JUCE receives no portion of those charges.
5.7 An entry edited after the Campaign closes will be assessed according to the version recorded at the closing time, where available. If the original version cannot reasonably be verified, the entry may be excluded.
5.8 If a Participant deletes their entry or account before entries are validated, JUCE may be unable to verify the entry.
5.9 JUCE is not responsible for an entry that is not received or visible because of a platform failure, privacy setting, connectivity problem or another circumstance outside JUCE’s reasonable control. JUCE will take reasonable steps to address any widespread technical issue that materially affects the Campaign.
6.1 The correct answer and any acceptable answer variations will be documented by JUCE before the Campaign opens.
6.2 Reasonable spelling, punctuation or formatting differences may be accepted if the entry unambiguously communicates the correct answer.
6.3 An entry that is incomplete, unintelligible, submitted late, fraudulent or inconsistent with these Rules will not qualify.
6.4 The Promoter and the independent person overseeing the Campaign will apply the qualifying criteria consistently and objectively.
7.1 A maximum of twenty Prizes will be awarded.
7.2 If twenty or fewer unique Qualifying Participants enter, each Qualifying Participant will be selected as a Potential Winner.
7.3 If more than twenty unique Qualifying Participants enter, exactly twenty Potential Winners will be selected through a computer-generated random draw in which every Qualifying Participant has an equal chance of selection.
7.4 No Participant may receive more than one Prize.
7.5 A ranked list of reserve Potential Winners will be selected during the same random process.
7.6 Reserve Potential Winners may be contacted in order if an initially selected Participant:
Did not satisfy the eligibility or entry requirements at the time of entry;
Cannot be verified despite reasonable efforts;
Declines the Prize; or
Cannot be contacted or does not provide the information reasonably required to verify eligibility and deliver the Prize within the applicable claim period.
7.7 The Campaign and winner-selection process will be overseen and certified by an independent accountant, registered auditor, attorney or advocate in accordance with applicable law.
7.8 The draw results are final, subject to correction of manifest error, fraud, ineligibility or a legal requirement. Nothing in these Rules prevents a Participant from exercising rights available under applicable law.
8.1 Each Verified Winner will receive one Prize.
8.2 The recommended retail price of each Prize is R1,500, and the maximum total recommended retail value of all twenty Prizes is R30,000.
8.3 A Verified Winner may select three eligible 10ml JUCE Mini Fragrances, subject to stock availability when the Prize is processed.
8.4 If a selected fragrance is unavailable, JUCE may, after consulting the Verified Winner where reasonably practicable, substitute another eligible fragrance of equal or greater recommended retail value.
8.5 If another Prize component becomes unavailable for reasons outside JUCE’s reasonable control, JUCE may substitute a substantially similar item of equal or greater recommended retail value.
8.6 If a Verified Winner does not provide fragrance selections after a reasonable reminder, JUCE may select the available fragrances on the winner’s behalf. Failure to select fragrances alone will not cause the winner to lose the Prize.
8.7 A Prize is not transferable, may not be exchanged for store credit and may not be redeemed for cash, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
8.8 Prize images used in Campaign advertising may be illustrative. The written Prize description in these Rules will apply.
9.1 Potential Winners will be announced using their social-media handles only, unless they separately agree to another form of identification.
9.2 JUCE will attempt to contact each Potential Winner through a direct message from one of the official JUCE accounts identified in clause 1.2.
9.3 JUCE may also reply to or tag a Potential Winner on the Campaign Post and ask them to check their messages.
9.4 JUCE will make at least three reasonable and documented notification attempts during the applicable claim period.
9.5 A Potential Winner must respond by the Claim Deadline and provide the information reasonably necessary to verify eligibility and deliver the Prize. This may include:
Full legal name;
South African ID or passport number and reasonable supporting proof;
Proof of age or South African residency, where required;
Contact telephone number;
Valid South African physical delivery address; and
Preferred Mini Fragrance selections.
9.6 JUCE will never require a Potential Winner to pay a fee, provide banking or credit-card details, or purchase anything to receive a Prize.
9.7 If a Potential Winner fails to respond after JUCE has made the reasonable contact attempts described above, cannot establish that they met the eligibility requirements when entering, declines the Prize, or cannot provide a deliverable South African address, JUCE may—where permitted by applicable law—offer the Prize to the next reserve Potential Winner.
9.8 Every reserve Potential Winner will receive five Business Days after their first direct notification to respond and provide the required verification and delivery information.
9.9 JUCE will not withhold an unclaimed Prize merely for its own benefit where an eligible reserve Potential Winner remains available and the Prize can reasonably be awarded.
10.1 JUCE will pay the standard domestic courier charge for delivery to a valid South African physical address.
10.2 Prizes cannot be delivered to a post-office box.
10.3 JUCE aims to dispatch each Prize within twenty Business Days after the winner has been verified and all required delivery information has been received.
10.4 Delivery dates are estimates and may be affected by stock availability, courier delays, remote-area scheduling or circumstances outside JUCE’s reasonable control. JUCE will keep an affected winner reasonably informed.
10.5 A Verified Winner is responsible for ensuring that their delivery details are complete and correct. A correction must be submitted before dispatch to be guaranteed.
10.6 If delivery fails because the address supplied was materially incorrect or nobody was available to accept delivery, JUCE will contact the winner and make one reasonable redelivery arrangement.
10.7 Additional delivery costs arising solely from repeated incorrect information or non-availability may be the winner’s responsibility, provided no such cost will be imposed where prohibited by law.
10.8 JUCE will retain courier tracking, delivery confirmation or other reasonable evidence that the Prize was sent or delivered.
11.1 No change-of-mind return or exchange applies to a Prize, and a Prize is not covered by a voluntary JUCE benefit that expressly applies only to purchased goods.
11.2 The JUCE Refund Policy applies only where relevant and does not limit any statutory right.
11.3 Nothing in these Rules excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights relating to failed, unsafe or defective goods under the Consumer Protection Act.
11.4 If a Prize is damaged in transit, unsafe, defective or otherwise fails to meet an applicable statutory standard, the winner should contact JUCE promptly at support@juce.co.za.
12.1 JUCE may announce a winner’s social-media handle for the purpose of administering the Campaign and communicating its outcome.
12.2 JUCE may invite a winner to participate in photographs, videos, testimonials, interviews or other promotional activity.
12.3 A winner may decline such an invitation without losing the Prize.
12.4 JUCE will not use a winner’s image, likeness, testimonial or other personal content for marketing without the winner’s separate agreement or another lawful basis under applicable law.
13.1 JUCE is the responsible party for personal information it processes in administering the Campaign.
13.2 JUCE may collect and process:
A Participant’s social-media handle, entry, comment and entry timestamp;
Information reasonably needed to assess whether an entry qualifies;
For Potential Winners, their full legal name, contact details, identity or passport number, eligibility evidence, delivery address and fragrance selections; and
Winner-selection, communication, verification and delivery records.
13.3 Entry is voluntary. However, the information identified as necessary for entry, eligibility verification or delivery must be supplied if JUCE is to validate an entry, verify a Potential Winner and deliver a Prize.
13.4 If the necessary information is not supplied, JUCE may be unable to validate the entry, verify the Potential Winner or deliver the Prize.
13.5 JUCE will process Campaign information only where reasonably necessary to:
Administer and audit the Campaign;
Validate entries and select Potential Winners;
Verify eligibility;
Contact Potential Winners;
Deliver Prizes;
Prevent and investigate fraud;
Respond to queries and complaints; and
Comply with the Consumer Protection Act, POPIA and other legal obligations.
13.6 Personal information may be disclosed to:
JUCE personnel who need it to administer the Campaign;
The independent professional overseeing and certifying the Campaign;
Courier and fulfilment providers;
Technology, hosting and competition-administration service providers acting for JUCE;
Professional advisers; and
A regulator, court or public authority where disclosure is legally required.
13.7 Personal information collected for the Campaign will not be sold or used for direct marketing unless the person has separately and expressly agreed to receive that marketing.
13.8 JUCE will implement appropriate and reasonable organisational and technical safeguards to protect personal information.
13.9 JUCE will retain competition records required by law for at least three years after the Campaign concludes.
13.10 Other personal information will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary or legally authorised and will then be securely deleted, destroyed or de-identified.
13.11 A social-media platform may independently retain public comments and related information under its own terms and privacy policy. JUCE does not control the platform’s independent retention practices.
13.12 Where an authorised service provider processes personal information outside South Africa, JUCE will take the steps reasonably required by POPIA to protect that information.
13.13 A person may, subject to applicable law, ask JUCE to:
Confirm whether JUCE holds their personal information;
Provide access to that information;
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
Delete information JUCE is no longer authorised to retain; or
Consider an objection to processing.
13.14 Privacy requests may be sent to support@juce.co.za. Additional information is available in the JUCE Privacy Policy.
13.15 Cookie preferences can be changed using the Manage My Cookies control in the footer of the JUCE website.
13.16 A person who believes their personal information has been processed unlawfully may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator through www.inforegulator.org.za, by emailing POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za, or by telephoning 010 023 5200.
14.1 The Campaign is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram, Facebook, Meta or any other social-media platform on which it appears.
14.2 A Participant supplies their entry information to JUCE while also using the relevant social-media platform. Use of that platform remains subject to its own terms and policies.
14.3 To the maximum extent permitted by law, each Participant releases the relevant social-media platform from claims arising solely from JUCE’s administration of the Campaign.
15.1 JUCE may disqualify an entry or Participant where JUCE has reasonable grounds to believe that the Participant:
Supplied false or misleading information;
Impersonated another person;
Used bots, scripts, automated networks, multiple accounts or another unfair entry method;
Tampered with the entry or draw process;
Breached these Rules; or
Engaged in unlawful, abusive or fraudulent conduct connected with the Campaign.
15.2 A disqualification decision will be based on available evidence and will be subject to review by the independent person overseeing the Campaign where appropriate.
15.3 JUCE may request an explanation or supporting information before disqualifying a Potential Winner, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect the integrity of the Campaign.
16.1 JUCE may suspend, postpone, amend or cancel the Campaign only where reasonably necessary because of fraud, technical failure, a platform outage, a legal or regulatory requirement, a safety concern or circumstances outside JUCE’s reasonable control.
16.2 JUCE will not make a change that unfairly or materially prejudices Participants who entered before the change.
16.3 Any material change will be communicated promptly through the same official channels used to promote the Campaign.
16.4 No amendment or cancellation will deprive a Verified Winner of a vested right to a Prize, except to the extent required or permitted by applicable law.
16.5 If a technical problem compromises the integrity of the draw, JUCE may conduct a replacement draw from the valid Qualifying Participants under independent oversight.
17.1 Nothing in these Rules excludes or limits:
A right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded;
Liability under section 61 of the Consumer Protection Act;
Liability for death or personal injury;
Liability arising from fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
Liability arising from gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
17.2 Subject to clause 17.1, JUCE will not be liable for delay or failure caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, provided that JUCE takes reasonable steps to minimise the impact and fulfil its obligations.
17.3 Subject to clause 17.1 and to the maximum extent permitted by law, JUCE’s aggregate liability for direct loss arising solely from the administration of the Campaign will not exceed the recommended retail value of the Prize concerned.
17.4 JUCE is not responsible for independent acts or omissions of a social-media platform, telecommunications provider or other third party outside JUCE’s reasonable control. This does not relieve JUCE of any responsibility that applicable law places on it.
18.1 JUCE will maintain the records required under the Consumer Protection Act and applicable regulations for at least three years after the Campaign concludes.
18.2 These records will include the Campaign Rules, promotional material, draw and verification records, the basis on which winners were selected, notification attempts and evidence of Prize delivery.
18.3 The independent person overseeing the Campaign will certify the conduct of the Campaign through JUCE’s appropriate internal audit, validation or verification process.
19.1 These Rules are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
19.2 Nothing in these Rules prevents a Participant from referring a dispute or complaint to the National Consumer Commission, the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud, the Information Regulator, the National Consumer Tribunal, a consumer court or another body or court with lawful jurisdiction.
19.3 If a provision of these Rules is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, it will be treated as modified to the minimum extent necessary, or severed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions will continue to apply.
19.4 JUCE’s failure or delay in enforcing a provision will not constitute a waiver of that provision.
19.5 Headings are included for convenience and do not affect the interpretation of these Rules.
